At the end of May, my friend Lise made a road trip back to Edmonton to join our buddies from school for our friend Erin's stagette. Erin is a wonderful Christian girl who has found the guy that God had picked out for her. She and Gerry are great for each other. They are happy and excited to be beginning their life together and will be married in Nanaimo, B.C. on July 15th.
The stagette was a ton of fun and was really refreshing because it was dignified! Stags and stagettes have become parties that often dishonour God, the people to be married, and the sacred union of marriage. I truly believe that God wants us to have fun in life and we can do so within his boundaries. They are there for our benefit!
We had dinner, (teased Erin mercilessly!), went for drinks on Whyte Avenue and went back to Laura's for more games and fun. Our plans were definitely spiced up by the fact that the Oilers won their way into the Stanley Cup final that same night. We, however, like to believe that the crowd of around 50,000 had gathered on Whyte Ave to celebrate Erin's upcoming marriage! :)
Below, you will see Erin's festivities colliding with Oiler fever. . . Oiler fans took a liking to her and the riot police were more than happy to congratulate her as she went by.

We, of course, stayed in touch with our silly side and played goofy games. Just enough to keep Erin's face at a nice shade of red for most of the evening! :)
